When it comes to describing today I could almost leave everything before 3 o’clock out. The morning was spent with us all sitting in our now customary position around our large kitchen table, typing drawing and doing those exciting jobs engineers do. We did have some more sausages for lunch (we tried not to cook a dinner cause we weren’t that hungry, but somehow we ended up kind of cooking one anyway). So about 3 we decided to head down to the Cheshire homes centre. Apparently the couple from Sunday (yes “the boob” women) were going to be there playing with the kids so we made our way down to get out of the house for a bit. When we got there I had one or two internet tasks to do, so I sat on the ground near the office with the internet router. Sitting on the ground around here though is not the best of ideas as there are ants everywhere. While I was online the others had started kicking a football around so once I finished I joined in. We were playing with two boys from the centre, one whose legs were all bent out of shape and the other who was missing one of his legs. Now you might expect me to say they were shit but they weren’t (I’ve seen worse playing from Galway Utd). The kid with only one leg had a set of crutches and boy could he move on them and could kick the ball really well while using the crutches for support. It was amazing to see how he had adapted (also he was wearing a Dublin GAA jersey, at one point yesterday we were in a taxi over the other side of town when I saw a local guy in a Shelborne jersey on a bike it was an odd sight). At one point he even managed to volley the ball. The other kid was surprisingly good also. We hardly saw the couple from Sunday at all apart from when “the boob” women borrowed Dan’s laptop to use the internet. We also pushed some of the kids on swings and Jamie and Áine had bubbles and balloons for them. Eventually we grew tired and decided to head home before it became dark. For dinner number two of the day we cooked (Dan cooked) Spaghetti Bolognese before attempting to decide which film to watch. We decided to have a proper democratic ballot (African style where it’s more negotiation than democracy, if even that). We all wrote down three films we would like to watch from the films Dan has on his laptop. And surprise, surprise we had chosen 12 different films with not one common choice. So we started round two, where you had to choose 2 films from the previous set of films (but not the ones you had chosen, still following). And guess what that was six different films. After followed a bit of negotiation and one vote which we ignored (real African style). Eventually we decided on “American History X”. We watched about half when a combination of the DVD player acting up and Dan taking his Mac when he went to bed, combined to stop the film an hour from the end. We shall return to that tomorrow. So that was today. Goodnight.
